Beneath the Dollar Sign
The opportunity arrives –
Grab the pen or forget –
It’s godsent – a now or never –
Whatever choice – don’t fret –
Say – isn’t this a masterpiece –
A handmade fountain pen –
The special one you’ve waited for –
A holy grail for men –
Look at the ornamented body –
Especially the gold –
Look at the river and pedals –
Cherry blossoms flowing –
But take in the numbers –
No rubies or gemstones of such –
What’s a pen this price worth to you?
My wallet screams “Too much” –
One last look at its radiance –
Unparalleled writing –
Exquisite abalone shells –
Yearn overpowering –
Here I sit with my holy grail –
Ink trailing on paper
The experience and the joy –
Everlasting treasure –
