beneath the surface

there is a person in the mirror i see

they are staring back at me

their pain is breaking the glass

pieces flying through the air

piercing everything in their path

dark circles surround their eyes

questions fill my head

what do i see in their soul

a dark abyss fills my mind

this poor soul was lost

they have not been saved

i am lost myself

the pain they feel

its all too real

a broken soul is hard to mend

cracks lie beneath the surface
