Benzodiazepine

Diplomatic helplessness is all I have to give to you

When homes without foundations are the town you built to match the plans you made

With me

Consisting of what I could never see

You read my mind

More than the time

We thought of love

Remember who we were, you were, I was

Everything I thought I did for love,

I did for drugs.

Got the potential to know too much

Got half the action to know too much

Do you want to be productive,

Or do you want to enjoy your lunch?

Is running from your sadness wrong

If you’ve felt the same for so damn long?

Life has its issues

And so do I.

I’m trying to smile after I die.

Crawling through the dirt I walked on

Tongue glued to the dirt we walked on

Heart under the dirt you walked on anyway

Every day

I want to tell myself that it’s okay

The exit path was not appealing

Roads we walked were too revealing

Melancholy had me feeling

Sadness, it was fun

It was over long before we had the heart to say it’s done.

It’s all over long before I have the heart to help someone.
