beowulf
In my early years I saw you as Beowulf,
the hero has fallen and I am baffled.
As a whelp would be without its papa wolf.
When you left my life emotions were stifled,
because that is what you showed me
your last wish was that, for me not to feel pity.
Although you are at the heavens, your presence I perceive.
You always showed, at your age great gritty.
I regret not being there when you asked.
All you wanted was someone to talk with.
You told me every story, you were unmasked.
When you saw me, all I could see is a reply of blithe.
Grandpa, I miss you. I wish I could bring back time.
Appreciate what you have, they're here one-time.
