Best Friend

We grew up together
In the suburbs of a small town
Where we noticed the weather
Didn't change when the sun went down
It stayed hot forever
But we found ways around
Like the black crows feather
Making it's way downtown
Or the dark green lizard
We'd always see on the ground
Adapting, but never changing
Our friendship is the same thing
We're "besties" forevermore, in the bottom of our hearts
Even though everyday we drift farther and farther apart.
