Best Friend

When we were young

we promised "forever".

Never seperated, close beyond compare.

Now I know how often children lie.

"Don't talk to me anymore,"

she yelled.

She pushed me to the ledge and watched as I fell.

I've moved past her,

but still...

the fear is there.

This will happen again.
