To The Best Guy I Know.....
To the best guy I know,
From sea to sea,
Atlantic to Pacific actually,
A power greater than we,
Brought you to me.
It was not a coincidence, it was not a mistake.
When out of 8 billion humans in this world,
Two complete strangers happen to take
the same the same trip
to the same destination
out of the entire world.
Who would have thought that one year later I would on a flight
And hours later be in your kitchen, trying to bake.
It was fate.
Oh, what a pleasure it was to have you along for that wild ride.
Having the most genuine, kind, sincere dude by my side.
But, oh, what a pleasure it has been each day since,
Growing our connection more and more,
Via facetime and imessage,
With the occasional plane ride and face-to-face,
And constantly, the power of the universe, has me completely convinced.
I knew that there was a reason the Universe brought us together.
I was in need of a kind, like-minded friend,
And you were in need of a friendship providing unconditional love,
And we were able to prove each other with that.
You help me with math,
I help you with girls,
But when you became distant and skinnier,
And eventually,
When you were crying on my shoulder,
“Enough is enough already”
And you told me that you could not bear your pain any longer,
In that moment, I knew just how important this relationship is.
Thank you for letting me in.
Thank you for being vulnerable.
Thank you for putting your trust in me.
Thank you for allowing me to help you.
Thank you for fighting
Thank you for pushing through
Thank you for being a warrior
Thank you for being my constant inspiration
Thank you for providing me with the single handedly most real, down-to-earth, amazing, kind, healthy, happy, loving, judge-free friendship I have ever experienced.
Thank you for being my best friend.
Thank you for being you.
Although we met by the Indian Ocean,
Our story continued, back to the USA,
From New Jersey to San Diego,
And then Purdue University to San Diego State,
And every stop in between,
This story will be never ending.
That ride we took in Tanzania is something I will never forget.
But, the relationship we have built following Tanzania is something I will never stop cherishing
And lucky for me, I don’t have to.
So thank you,
For simply being you.
