Best of Me

A mentor,

someone to look up to and to ask for.

Someone to ask when puzzled,

and doesn't look over you when you feel muzzled.

Your name is Jesus,

the only one who really sees us.

You saved my life when I was seventeen,

thats the reason I'm still allowed to dream.

My whole rock,

when troubles begin to knock.

Thank you for being here,

when I am crippled in fear.

I don't know where I would be,

if You never came and rescued me.

You will always be the best of me,

the part I want people to see.

When someone asks me who is my mentor,

I respond with "someone who thinks I'm worth dying for".
