The Best in Me

Every time I look in the mirror, I beat myself down

Nothing can change, nothing can turn around

I cry and weep myself to sleep

I feel like I have no peace

Everyone I know and love turn their back on me

I cry, beg, and plead to somebody to set me free

I'm a trapped bird, caged in misery

Feeling like my whole life is a mystery

Then someone lift my head up to wipe my tears

Through all of my misery for so many years

He told me you can do all things

Now I can fly with miraculous wings

God saw the best in me

Now that I know, my life is free

With open eyes, I can now see

That greater is him that's within me

Why didn't I know this before?

I was at a low level

When I should've been flying with angels

Instead of dancing with the devil

Now that I know, I can finally breathe

That God sees the best in me

Confused, Broken,and couldn't last

But guess what? That was the past

Now I look in the miror, I encourage myself

Instead of putting my confidence on the shelf

I tell people my story of what I've been through

If he can do it for me, he can do it for you too
