Best me I can be
When I was young it would be a lie,
to say that I was easy on the eye.
With knobby knees and stringy hair,
I wore ugly clothes almost everywhere.
I was picked on and laughed at while in school,
for my appearance was deemed so uncool.
But eventually my appearance began to change.
My clothes and style got rearranged.
I was suddenly one of the pretty girls
as I twisted my finger around my curls.
However, popularity comes with a price.
For Just like the mean girls - I too became not so nice.
I was not impressed with what I became,
as my attitude had become so very lame,
Thus, I wanted to be a much better me,
so began to make changes for all to see.
However, in time as true friends do,
they took me back and my character grew.
Through it all I’ve learned to see
to always be the best me I can be.
