The Best Medicine

If there was one thing I could not go without,

It would be my ability to laugh without a doubt.

In such a situation you can laugh or cry,

And if I couldn't do the former, I'd surely die.

Stranded alone on an island,

More isolated than the rice paddy in Thailand,

Tom Hanks and I are in the same boat,

Haha, if only we had one, we could stay afloat.

Coconut salads, coconut stews,

Day after day, getting coconut blues.

With food to eat and water to drink,

All I have time for is to sit and think.

And it's better to have thoughts that are happy, not sad,

So to help that along I'll laugh or go mad.
