The Best Minds of my Generation

We live in a society that’s really traumatizing me,
the same routine that can bring an ugly side.
And we refuse to change our ways, make the world a better place
Is money and weed the only thing that we will ever chase,
there's gotta be something more that we can embrace.
We are a family, caged in this insanity,
But if we come together, we’ll turn our dreams into a reality.
Don't want my brothers and sisters suffering fatality,
We have to go to back to respecting humanity
Instead of blaming everything on the powers that be.
No more gang affiliation, no shots thrown at you and me;
We must stand together and fight as a unity
So that I won’t have to say that my community is ruining me,
But that my dreams and aspirations are what’s influencing me.
To become optimistic in a world of negativity,
To keep striving forward is a definite must
Let’s let the world know that there’s still hope in us.
