I get to have fun with this

With others all I can do is proclaim their beauty

With you, I have the idea that I can be artful

And more importantly-

You’ll still get it

And even if you don’t

You know well enough to know-

That isn’t even all that matters.

When I think of you I think of springtime

Vast swirls of yellow white and lime green

You have the same fire within you as the shallow little girl you play

You have the deepness within you that character seems to long for

I’m sure that’s why our beloved matron chose you.

You have such a compelling soul

You not only speak eloquently but you have the heart and spirit to back it up

People listen

And you are not as hollow as that role of intellectual portrays

I don’t know many who have the same dreaded complementarity

You are not fearful that your personality will ruin your image

It takes a truly brilliant person to acknowledge and run with that.

And you run and dance and laugh

You transport yourself to childhood and stake yourself to some deep spark that keeps you going when all else seems to try to stop

Even in your honesty that this silly little poem has the potential to excite you and make you happy-

It is so endearing, sincere and sweet, and you, in that excitement, brightened my day

Because you seem to have no fear in emoting

And that is sheer brilliance

At least if you ask me
