Betrayal

Betrayal…

as much as we fight it, it still finds a way to be near

Known to psychologist as unconscious fear, but I seem well aware of it after each tear

Denial only made it easy for the moment

but what happens when the feeling sticks around for longer?

Sitting in the shower thinking hours after hours what could have gone wrong

when in reality it was his insecurities that built on my own

I was strong and confident, but him being a man made it hard to accept that coming from a blooming young lady

His negativity overpowered the optimism, it ripped away the happiness and turned the beautiful flowers into sharp dark rocks

Now that he had power in his hand he could have anything he desired

But what ever happened to the stability between our relationship overall?

Helping build a person does not assure they'll be thankful for each moment of you assuring them and giving them certainty that everything was going to be okay

It just feeds more power into them, while just more misery for the outsiders

Lots of twists and turn and just when you think you did a great job you fall back down and must try again

While she cries, he laughs

While she's panicking, he's careless

While she feels weak, he feels stronger

Seeing her die out and stripping away from her youthful personality, gave him the feeling he was missing this whole time; feeling alive .
