Betrayal

I thought you cared

But you didn't

I thought I could have my feelings shared

But I couldn't

I thought you'd understand

But you didn't

I thought I could stay where I stand

But I couldn't

I thought you'd see what I had to say

But you didn't

I thought I could keep my feelings at bay

But I couldn't

I thought you'd make me happy

But you didn't

I thought I could fake being happy

But I couldn't

I thought you'd listen to me

But you didn't

I thought I could stay strong for the ones who love me

But I couldn't

I thought you'd see how upset I was

But you didn't

I thought I could be who I truly was

But I couldn't

I thought my tears meant something

But they didn't

I thought I could trust you with everything

But I was wrong

I thought my eyes would stop being sore

But they didn't

I thought my heart wasn't able to shatter anymore

But I was wrong

I thought everyone would see

But they didn't

I really thought you loved me

But I was wrong

All of the lies you told

Shows how much it hurts

When the truth unfolds

And we realize that to you we're dirt
