Betrayal By A Friend

Betrayal by a friend,

Cuts deeper than a knife,

A wound that lingers and won't mend,

A pain that drains your life.

You thought you had a bond,

That nothing could break apart,

But now you are left beyond,

With a shattered, heavy heart.

The memories flood your mind,

Of times that now seems fake,

The laughter that you left behind,

A friendship you can no longer take.

You trusted them with your all,

Believing they had your back,

But now you see the writing on the wall,

And the trust you had is what they lack.

The hurt is hard to shake,

The anger, hard to hide,

It's difficult to take,

When a dear friend has turned aside.

Betrayal by a friend,

Is a lesson hard to learn,

But in the end,

You'll find the strength to turn.

You'll move on and find new light,

And let the past fall away,

You'll leave the hurt behind,

And will begin a brighter day.
