Betrayed
Tears of betrayal filled the rim of my eyes,
For the one I once loved was filled with nothing but lies,
Not once but many chances I gave him to prove me wrong,
But by giving that to him it only proved that over me he was strong,
So desperate for my own love I stayed by his side,
Wanting our love to grow, while never realizing that it already died,
I ignored all the warning signs my gut and my friends had found,
For half of me wanted to leave, but to him my heart was bound,
The tears stung my eyes as they slipped pass my hold,
Because I just realized I was nothing to him but a seasonal cold,
He caught me in his love and later became immune,
For all the love and connections that we made I felt it was gone too soon,
I wiped the tears from my face and cleared my throat with just one cough,
I was headed towards my future, to the light that won't turn off,
I headed there with my head up high to a position that stayed,
For never in my life again will i ever be ...BETRAYED.
