Better

Why does one try to advance? What purpose does one deserve?

Does one try to become the best that they can be? Or simply just to serve?

An education does much, it nurtures the mind to be able to comprehend

The mysteries that surround one's life, the ability to understand.

That's what I strive to pursue, the betterment of my mind

Acclimation of knowledge, both academic and scholarly, so that I may better find

My place in this world, my realized niche

What I was born to do, my role as the star.

This is, however, not a trivial matter

For it will take me a lifetime to go far.

Until that moment, all I can do is prepare

My mind for the reckoning, the trials of hope and despair.

With the power of my friends and family at my back, pushing me onwards

I can pursue the path to my dream, move forwards.

And get better.
