Better Days

Oh God I hope you hear me today, it's your mysterious ways that have consumed me lately, I’ve had a lot going on in my mind, I was just thinking about our given time, the limited time that we have on this earth, the one thing that holds the most worth. No, it's not anything that money can buy, yet it can be taken away. Oh what a crime, that it is you who decides. And I just continue to wonder why...

Oh why did you have to take my dad away? I don’t understand why you couldn’t give him just one more day. He won’t even get to see me graduate. Oh God, I know it’s not my place, but you’ve had me questioning a lot lately, its brought along a lot of pain, I just hope you forgive me anyway. I’m just praying to see better days.

Oh why did you have to take my dad from me? He will never see me receive my college degree, It’s the reason he ever even left his home country. Abandoned his friends and family, the ultimate sacrifice so I could achieve, things he, unfortunately, wouldn’t reach, and be someone of significance to society. So I could ever have a chance to reach my dreams, and be free to see the things he will never see. Oh God, let him know that his struggle will not be in vain, its brought along a lot of pain, and I know I’ll get through it anyway. But I’m just praying to see better days.

Oh why did you ever take him from us? Why now, why so young? He was a good man who lived a decent life & gave us so much. Taken from us, reduced to view from above. Yet he answers from the heavenly clouds every time I look up, And he still strongly exists in my blood. I feel it everytime I think of, of my struggles. And how he used to comfort me when I was troubled. He held my hand and then held me with his big bear arms, and under his protection, I was a child again, content & carefree. Oh how I thought he’d live to see it all. Oh how I was wrong, but he will live through me. Oh God I know its not my place, but you’ve had questioning a lot lately, its brought along a lot of pain, but I know I’ve been given strength to live through it anyway. I’m just praying to see better days.
