Better Days (Re-submitted)

Impossible expectations The days when we were high on dreams Promises to kiss the sun Looking forward to catching the bugs that glow Ah, the good days.. Thinking of that special boy Desperate for a sweet kiss on the cheek Writing his last name after your first Just holding his hand could quench your thirst Remembering the good days.. Best friends come and go Pitching in 50 cents to split a pop Asking daddy for a new bike You'd never learn to ride A year has gone past.. Your friends go on dates to bowling alleys, to street alleys All to knock down a few pins? Where's my ball? Time stands still Finding that one you couldn't be honest to The one you wanted to know completely You'd given all you could To part, and lose your soul Who are we without our souls? Regret clouds your mind Every moment of every day Doubting yourself more than ever Who are you trying to fool? Starting to remember.. You smile less than you talk You talk less than you sleep You sleep less then you dream You dream less than you want to care Now I remember..
