A Better Future

It's 5:30 am

The smell of coffee and bright light coming from your parents' room wakes you up

Daddy's up for work

Daddy never stops

Momma is unable

I pull my sheets over my head and drift to sleep

Dad comes home, it's 7:54 pm

Logging is no easy job

His dirty face, and ripped clothing are what make him, him.

His genuine smile warms my heart.

A better future is what I strive to make for myself and for my family

Daddy just needs some rest

He is hard headed

My family says I am just like him

I WILL make someone of my self

So daddy will never work again.
