Better than the voice inside

Nobody usually wants to admit it

but we all have voices inside.

Both good and bad they fill our mind every bit

and it's up to us which ones we deny

For me this one voice was a fear of mine

As the days went by it told me you can't

and you won't ever fly high nor shine

It would come out from within like I was being eaten alive

These types of voices inside are sly

They know what to say to make you feel worthless

I've learned to never give in and comply

The trick is yes you hear but do you listen as well?

We all choose where we lead our eyes

You have the power to refuse to listen to your demons inside

I saw the silver lining and looked on the greater prize

Which is you can accomplish whatever you decide

Although these voices are strong I know I'm stronger

I know I can acheive anything in life

Now my face beams because this fear exists no longer

and I've realized I'm better than the voice inside
