The In-between

Here I stand in the between

Reality and dream

There you sit in what seems

like the only one around

only you making sounds

with me and moonbeams

I watched you play

You strum, the low hum, I sway

my heart knew my cue

but my feet were like glue

if only i could unscrew

myself i could get on with life

take out this knife

and get past you.

You who sits on the inside

with your life to begin

and the outside where

I know I have been

but here i stand instead

in the middle and dead

torn between the two

the outside and you

until always, unsaid
