Between a Line and A Lie
All I need is something death defying.
Something worth it and rich.
I want awe inspiring.
Twists and turns.
To keep me going.
I need blood to boil.
To keep it truly flowing.
No more static aches and pains.
Of a normal life.
I'm sick of the same.
Days count all our life.
In the same precipice.
Who's ready to see
What life really is?
All I need is something instigating.
We just keep in time
With the music we're playing.
Over and over,
Routine is a matrix
But, just how long
Can you truly take it?
There's a line in the sand.
Drawn just for you.
It's where you stand.
It tells you to move.
You move only straight.
Just go; you'll be fine.
It's a slow, safe rate.
This boring little line.
All they need is something pacifying.
To shut up the noise.
To keep those hopeless from trying
To change the world.
Or at least to live freely.
They'd be jealous to see
One of those get victory.
So they set up their forces.
Quite eloquently spoken.
Outlining what truth is:
Beyond the line it is broken.
You'd shatter yourself.
And the world wouldn't care.
So, just get on the shelf.
And wait patiently there.
Wait for your turn.
Watch for your line.
Otherwise, you burn.
In a dreamy little lie.
All I need is someone similar.
To my strangest kind.
We can beat off-time together.
And pay not a single mind.
Or cent.
To those who'd rather just stare.
Give I unneeded consent.
To an uncaring pair.
To an uncaring pair.
Of those they resent.
Who broke that sacred line.
Or perhaps just fixed it.
For the rest of endless time.
Or maybe just for the misfit.
Who couldn't decide.
That often blurry difference
Between a line, and a lie.
