Between The Lines

Loving you,

is the only thing

my demon and soul agree to do.

for what that will bring

I will never really know

not the touch of your humanity

held in an angelic glow

as I am branded by the grip of insanity.

Courage found between the lines

and within your eyes

as my soul cries

and my demon sighs.

My demon and soul held my heart

and saw fit to give it to you,

you ripped it apart

and hung it up like art.

Upon a chain,

you bore my heart

and even in my pain

I felt it struggle to restart.

As you can see

Loving you,

painful as that may be,

is all my demon and soul seem to do.

But I can see the fear

held in your bloodshot eyes

"I love you" is something I will never hear

not even under your softest sighs.

I feel it though,

believe it or not,

beneath the blue moon, it shows,

tearing through me like a shot,

and in my end,

it's all okay,

I saw every sign,

even if you could never say,

"I love you too"

was hidden between every line.
