Between the Lines

What I sought was never what I found.

Determining what happens to me is not an ability.

Learned not to search like a hound

For hints foreshadowing any liabilities.

Instead I wait and see.

I have learned that patience is key.

Waiting, I drink my tea,

Until I have an epiphany, oh geez.

Poetry opened my eyes,

To what is usually unseen.

I can’t help but release sighs

When comprehending the unseen.

The words we say that exist between lines and stanzas,

Are words that make others help to understand us.
