Between the Lines

Poems are mysteries,
Without a true definition,
But once you read between the lines,
You'll see it clearly;
The meaning that defines your story

Poems sometimes seem
As though they are endless stories,
Without a purposeful direction
But that's the mysterious beauty;
To read between the endless lines,
But realize what lies in its perfection

Poems are ever-changing,
Yet still they are the same;
The words never vary,
But the meanings always do
Once you read between the lines

Poems are puzzles that never have a pattern,
Yet neither does our life;
It's all a mystery in the end

You read the poem once,
And in it you shall see
The true definition
Of what it's supposed to be

It may take only a moment,
Or maybe an entire hour,
But you will read between the lines
And get the big picture

You'll not only solve its mystery,
But seek to find more;
Because every time you read it,
It has many more meanings galore

Sometimes you must step back
To appreciate the big picture,
But it's not only a work of art,
So stand back,
And alas you'll see your answer
Once you read between the lines
