Between the Sky and the Sea

The space between the sky and the sea

That's where I’ll be

On a cloudy day it's where I’ll stay

Seemingly invisible, I’m still here

But probably more far than near

You tell me to be more open be myself and loud

Like I should part the waves from all the shapeless clouds

Through poetry I have found my voice

It has given me power and a choice

The idea of being in the open scares me

But poetry has allowed me to step out of the invisible space between the sky and the sea
