Beyond control

Job 30:22-23      New English Translation

22 You pick me up on the wind and make me ride on it;

You toss me about in the storm.

Where to go from here? Is this what life is all about?

I can’t handle it any longer, so I am ready to give up.

Things that were so dear are now screaming out loud.

As anger gets stronger, echoing in this empty cup

The corruption of the flesh boils deep into the core.

The Spirit is now indeed quenched as the storm rages on

How did peace get so shaken? Was it my hunger for more?

As the call was interrupted in my service to the Lord

All have a beginning, and so it is similar to dissatisfaction.

Houses built on sand will shake and surely slowly disappear.

The game is more than innings. Why is it a major attraction?

Does not “The One,” Who has it in hand, not deliver us from fear?
