BF: Best Friend or Boyfriend?

I've always loved you since that day in September.

I could never forget how I longed for your attention.

We were worlds apart and I caught secret glances at chances.

'Who held your heart?' bombarded my curiosity in strong stances.

You never looked my way, but I always looked yours.

Then on one faithful day my curiosity began to cure.

From that point on we've been two peas in a pod.

We've accepted each other: all the good, bad and odd.

And now we have a beautiful friendship that has blossomed and grown,

Even though it feels like little time has flown.

I want to confess with my emotions on my sleeve,

But your rejection is what I fear and grieve.

Please understand this will never be the end,

If you ever forget, we are united as awesome friends.

This is a chance to expand into more.

Or, allow me to end another chapter and close this door.

So when I tell you with a hopeful heart and clear mind

Answer with the truth only, don't stall with a lie.

I'm not good with people, I'm always in the way.

You blend well with everyone, you lead many hearts astray.

You're everywhere I go, you're in every corner I see.

I don't think I can handle another one, but I weaken at her plea.

We're mysterious, you and I; We both stare and smile, not truly seeing eye to eye.

She asks questions with answers I'm afraid to know.

You're omnipresence makes it difficult to resist the unknown.

I yearn to talk easy with you like I do with my friends.

You seem so open, carefree, with a dash of pretend.

I pretend too, my imagination has no end.

Tell me, Do you think we could be just friends?
