Bhavana

Sitting silently Watching my mind unravel Equanimity ensues And it's quite a marvel Conceptions dissipate As I just let things be And try not to control What's been locked inside of me The first thing I noticed Is the very air I breathe Does my undulating abdomen Follows its own Creed I noticed the ground Beneath my feet How I mesh into the Earth Is quite beyond me My muscles tense Then relax in due time Vipassana is life Like a professional pantomime I see things for what they are And nothing beyond that I am freed from the very place That's where I've sat and relaxed Peace becomes me More than just a feeling I am one with the cosmos Blissfulness blossoms from bhavana seeds My mind unclutters As I gain composure I need no explanations Or disdainful disclosures I become who I am Not who I once was I'm at the brink of enlightenment But yet still at square one No time constricts me For each moment comes as another passes I'm like I nearly blind man Just receiving his glasses I must share this Glee To be freed from self-induced misery To all who will listen I'll explain what I've seen Only then will I be freed And my conscience wiped clean When I give the gift of the eternal unseen
