The Bible,

My life without it, boy would it be idle,

I've learned history from this book and I've also found life,

I used to walk the streets of this world filled with viles of strife, 

This word took my from strife to life,

Open the leather covers of this ESV translation,

and this is my saving grace from eternal damnation, 

The religious leaders used to shout at Jesus with false accusations,

But he still took the role of a lamb for his permanent vocation,

Many say the bible is outdated and no longer relevant, 

I feel for them because in my life, it is permanent,

Underground is where many have to study these pages,

Little do the leaders of their country know that this book describes the God of Ages,

Without it, who would I be?

I'm not sure, but I know who Jesus is to me,

The bible describes the Son of God and tells of his grace,

and one day we will all see his face,

I've been lead astray by many,

But my life was changed when this book hit me at the age of twenty.
