The Biblical Psalms

They stand so tall,

I’ve read them all—

Those poems from the ancient years.

The thanks, the joy,

Or the painful story,

Of a man who is drowning in tears.

No rhyme to my ear,

No tempo to hear,

Yet in meaning, rarely surpassed.

By many ignored,

Yet finally explored,

By the one seeking God at last.
