Big and Round

My mother dropped out of high school

The students all stopped to stare

Her stomach was big and round

And the teachers did not care.

If this were to happen today

and believe me I know it does

I wish my teacher would say

"stick in there" and "you'll get through this day".

Sadly, their judgement kicks in

and they have no hope to give

the pregnant girl cannot win.

She probably wont go on

to reach her hopes and dreams

because you stared her down

with her stomach big and round.
