Big Business

A dysfunctional "family."
A greedy iron fist.
Rule on. Rule unjust. Rule with the sting of discouragment.
Keep your children in a closet.
Shut your door on their cries, praise their lies, blind their eyes.
Feed their envy, sure to leave them empty.
Laugh at their misunderstandings.
Curse their compassions.
Quick whip. Withheld embrace.
Highlight misguided accomplishments, but hide the face.
Afilthy grin plants a final kiss.
A single blink and you're sure to miss,
A flicker of light over the exit.

Proclaimed family may mold you,
But seek out the light.
Let your faith guide you.
Let true love hold you.
There you find yourself.
There you find Family.
