The Big Picture

Basketball It is life, it is my whole life Ever since I can remember The love I have passion I had and still have for this sport is never-ending Real sport unlike cheerleading (haha) kidding kidding When I am on the court my life feels…complete I feel like that is the time that I can be myself I can let the bad stuff go and just play ball I can show people what I got No matter who doubts what I can do I just have to believe in myself I love haters, hate refs, but what can you do Refs are the weather, you never know what calls you’re going to get When refs call everything against us, it don’t even faze me anymore Refs hate us, for whatever their reason is I guess its all part of life Not everyone will like you For whatever their reason is This year we’re starting off great Beating teams that they say we aren’t suppose to beat If you’re losing Don’t hate the playah, hate the game foo When I play, I play with heart I give all I got After the game I kick off my shoes and relax my socks Sometimes I have an off game Seems like the rim hates the ball because the ball just won’t go in My coach always says “keep shooting until I tell you to stop” Sometimes missing twice and get taken out gives mixed signals Then gaining confidence is just an uphill battle I already doubt myself and building confidence is really tough I can’t just let things go if I make a mistake And I’m already stressing out in school We are told that school comes first But it don’t seem that way I am trying my best But I feel like my best is not good enough Why does this have to be so difficult? My life is difficult enough I don’t need this Stressed out with school Practicing late Getting home tired and grouchy Not wanting to wake up the next day I am trying so hard to stay positive I have a ton of stress Trying to balance out school and basketball It is a never ending battle It is bringing me down, it’s bringing me down Under that smile that the world see’s Is a frown that is hidden Always putting on an act that I’m fine But really, deep down inside Is stress and depression Something that I can’t get rid of These feelings come and go I always hope it’s the positive one tomorrow Basketball It is life
