The Big Sad

Every single day I repeat the same phrase to myself,

Keep the Sad out.

It is a personal motto.

I've seen friends around me all go down the rabbit hole of Sad.

and increasingly I have to tell myself to not let the sad in.

Throughout my high school career,

I've seen friends go down to the Sad.

I've seen it spread like a disease thought the halls of Blaine.

It has infested every single part of this school with its clutches.

Nobody was safe, except me!

I kept the Sad out for years.

I've kept the Sad out.

Until now.
