A big thank you to poetry

who has taught me more about myself

then anyone or anything else.

I used to be 

weak and insecure,

my whole life was once

a blur

until poetry made me

self-assured.

Now I walk with 

confidence 

and with my head held high,

always looking forward,

with poetry by my side.

Silence once consumed me

I never spoke a word,

but with poetry,

I found my voice

and I never leave 

unheard.

Thank you poetry 

you have helped me

through it all,

I have stumbled, 

I have slipped,

but you've never let me fall.
