Bigger than Mars
Every child has a heart bigger than Mars.
Every adult has a button you don't want to press.
Every person has a journey.
No longer do parents have arms that swaddle me, like when I was a baby.
When your name was so innocent that no label or opinions were glued to you, except
"blessing" and "beloved".
That begins to fade out as people betray you and the ones that promised they wouldn't, drive you to parties full of phonies who sure aren't for you.
As seasons come and go, so does your beliefs; creating question and question until I drown in relief and breathe in what consumes me.
I turn it 180 degrees and share that I'm proud, until I'm ashamed because I created the creatures who endanger me.
