bike path

the faint aroma of car exhaust filling my lungs as I force my fatigued muscles to forge ahead on the archaic bike trail

in the distance I hear my friend crying out my name urging me to slow down but I ignore her pleas

I have never felt this amount of bliss before

the cold wind sending shockwaves down my spine the occasional leaf is ensnared by my hair whipping from side to side

my friend, panting, catches up to me

this moment could not become any more perfect
