Billy

I wrote this in the context of a young man calling his mother from prison. They go back and forth so pay attention to who is saying what. Thanks "Billy" Hello Billy its nice to hear from you I heard you ended up back in the joint, I'm going to change my ways you know that why what's your point. Yeah that's what you said last time and how long did it last, But things are different now I promise you besides all those days have passed. We warned you about your drinking you knew that was no way to live, I tried to talk to your father about it he said he has no more love to give. But Im telling you now that I'm sorry you know I didn't mean to do it, Have you thought about all the people that you hurt or perhaps the ones that didn't make it through it. Ya ya I hear you mom I just need to get out of here and get on with my life, A lot of people are scared of you Billy you know you killed your wife. What are you kidding me why didn't anyone tell me she was dead, How could you have not known son your prints were on the broken whiskey bottle laying beside her head. How could that even be it was just a little fight, I could barely remember what day it was how could I recall all the night. All your neighbours seen what happened you should have seen their terrified faces, The detectives called the house yesterday they filed multiple cases. Hold on wait a minute you mean to cause more trouble, The coroner's report was devastating son the homicide charge just doubled. You spend your life in prison now to think about what you've done, You'll need to pray for forgiveness she was carrying your unborn son. Please Drink Responsibly! Mike Ronk
