Birds

When I walk outside I look up to see These birds flying away way up there in the sky. And I think I think to myself They’re looking down on me. "What makes you special, birds?" They don’t answer me back. But I know why They’re moving and here I am wasting. Wasting another day in front of a computer screen watering crops and sliding sweets. Wasting another day trying to find the deeper meaning in Fitzgerald and Hemingway. Wasting another day stuck in monotony. But no. Not anymore. I refuse to live like this. I refuse to stand still. I’m gonna get out of this nest! I’m going to sprout wings! And I’ll fly! London! Egypt! France! I’ll see the world! And the world will see me. That’s right, world! I’m coming for ya! Open your eyes! Take notes! Today I am normal but tomorrow? Tomorrow I’ll be up there! Up, up, and away! So, so long ground it was nice knowing you but something is calling my name. It’s the birds. Maybe they aren’t looking down on me after all. Maybe they’re just just trying to say “Come join us.”
