Birds in the Sky

Once in a lifetime

The opportunity comes

To show who you are.

The swans fly high,

But do they touch the heavens

Or do they come back down

To touch the water’s surface?

Once in a lifetime

The opportunity comes

To show who you are.

The peacocks flash their feathers,

But is their magnificence evident

Or is it surpassed

By the rise of the sun?

Once in a lifetime

The opportunity comes

To show who you are.

The humans strive for excellence,

But do they succeed

Or are they crushed

By the weight of perfection?

The true question now is

Who are you?

Or more importantly,

Who will you be?
