The Birth

Today I blossom

Like a flower in a fresh spring garden.

Today I become the other half of the life that will

Consume the rest of your life.

Today is the day you relinquish yourself

And transfer the ideal of being human into being a mother.

Today is not my day, but a day

That the heavens will record

And check off from a list known as your destiny.

Today, in this hour and minute, you have agreed to

be the warrior in my night,

and I agree to be the reason you keep fighting

the war against life.
