The Birth of a Poe-t

It was that first "Nevermore"

that brought life

to my young dead soul.

It was the psychopathic beating

of a dead man's heart

that brought a beat

to mine.

A dream

within a dream

I was living

after awaking

from a nightmare

within reality.

It was his unique style

and overlooked gift

that sparked

an eternal enlightenment

in my mind

and a present peace

in my soul.

I am a Poe-t,

 and for that,

I am forever grateful.
