Birthday Blues

Today is Kierra’s Birthday

A day so long ago was praised

A day the favorite child was celebrated

Now a day that isn’t the same

A day of sorrow and rain

A pain I can’t contain

Alive, she lives but,

She seems as though in her grave

Cut off from the world

A sister’s pain

A queen she reined

Now forever detained

Come alive Kierra,

Call my name

Say I love you

Because my love never changed
