Biscuits Hurt the Most
I'm crushed and I'm torn,
I can't explain that anymore.
"You had me at hello,"
and destroyed me when you said no.
I craved you,
thought I loved you...
You used me,
so you didn't feel blue.
I waited and waited,
I tried get close,
we FaceTimed and Skyped,
but that's not even remotely what hurt the most.
I cried the night that we said our good-byes,
you held me in your arms under the night sky.
We sat there so close, making memories for us both
but baby, that's not what hurt the most.
You said you wished you had dated me earlier in life,
I feel like if you did, you wouldn't feel so torn up inside.
You were afraid to commit, just wanted to "have fun,"
but when college came around, I heard you might have found your one.
I couldn't understand, I wanted to know
"What made her so different? Why'd you tell me no?"
I read what you told me inside of my yearbook,
and cried and cried about the time that you so willingly took.
When I told you I hoped you felt bad,
I just wanted to talk, you knew I was sad.
As I sit here and type, I think of my Biscuit
of all of our memories, like "giraffe" and my sickness.
I end this poem saying I'm sorry,
I'm not sure what I did,
just want you to know
I'm no longer yours to kid.
