Bite
I was caught unaware when it wrapped itself around me.
It constricted around my chest, I could barely breathe.
Tighter, tighter the creature constricted
I
found myself gasping for breath. That's when it
bit me. It's venom seeped into my blood with words
of hate. "You're just the rebound" "He just wants your body"
"Surrender
yourself" "He doesn't care" The venom made me
collapse to the floor, reaching for help. Anybody.
Somebody. "You're just his playtoy." I had told
myself
I was safe with him. Was I wrong? Doubt.
Anxiety. Fear. Depression. What if....? The creature
hisses in my ear whispering I'm not worth it.
To
it's surprise, I bite back. He loves me. He knows
me. We're okay. The creature shrinks in surprise.
I will fight it again and again. Who controls me?
Nobody.
