A Bitter August

it gets easier they all said time heals all wounds except this grief in my head you were taken to early from this world now the vise around my heart is like a tightly wound cord tearing me apart where no one can see you weren't even three my dear little niece the day you left i was torn to pieces i still remember the day that you came to play saying aunty i love you and i said it right back to you but as the leaves turn crisper these words i can barely whisper i love you watch over your sisters
