Bitter or Better

Perfection is elusive this side of the grave.

Its direction is inclusive in how we behave.

It’s easy to grow bitter traveling life’s lonely way.

Or strive to become better in each and every day.

Resentments become bitter despite much fortune and fame.

Contentment becomes better with blessings shared and proclaimed.

Life may offer excuses we can use for the alibi.

But separating bitter from better is the single letter “I”.
